On a separate occasion 2 years ago, I was this doctor's patient for the same tests. He had the same attitude and tried to sell me the same stuff. He did prescribe an inhaler and required that I see him weekly to see how it went, ranking up the office visit fees. Without having more than a 5 minute conversation each time. The prescription was outrageously expensive and not covered under insurance, and it never did anything for me. Each visit was just another attempt for him to sell those pillows and blankets.
When the Doctor had time for us, he spoke to my 12 year old son disrespectfully and tried to sell us hypoallergenic pillows and blankets. After we both told him "No" a few time he sent the nurse in to perform a spirometry and allergy prick test. He wasn't seen again.
I have seen Rick DeVuyst for several years after Dr Neuland diagnosed me with asthma. Rick has always been attentive and caring about my current state of health. My appointments have been on time and handled well. Prescriptions are handled properly. I wanted to write a review when I saw other reviews that were not recommending Rick Devuyst. Rick is not a doctor; he is a PA-C.
This doctor was very rushed and did not seem interested in our specific case.
Dr. Firschein went to run an errand after seeing a patient before me. He didn't tell me or my son before leaving, then was in an accident in the parking lot. He then chose to handle insurance before talking to me. After an hour and a half of waiting, I asked the nurses what the deal was. They said that the Dr. was on "urgent business" and that I could wait or reschedule.
My son had a reaction to a shot and after calling for days with no response and requesting a school note with no response....I give up! Allergy Partners do not care in my opinion. Office staff were not helpful or concerned and my call on the third day seemed to be quite an inconvenience.
Dr. Firschein was an hour late to our 8:30am appointment. We were the first appointment of the day and he was an hour late and unapologetic to boot. He was condescending and not particularly personable. He was not able to provide any information in reference to our questions that we had not already read just by googling our daughter's issue. We also had to push to ask questions to begin with. After waiting an hour he came in, asked a few questions, typed them into his laptop and tried to leave. Overall not a pleasant experience. The quality of the service was poor as was our interaction with Dr. Firschein as as well. The staff was very friendly, I feel bad for them having to work for Dr. Firschein.
