Overall, if you get a server you like, you will enjoy yourself at Props. Great atmosphere, food, and beer.
My husband brought me here with his military class. I had heard of one servers poor performance and got to experience it the second time my husband brought me. The server the previous time when it was just us was great!
I asked if I could sample a beer (some places won't let you and that's fine), he said yes and brought me a full pint. When he brought me the pint he was all sour puss face when I reminded him I'd asked for a sample not a pint. I didn't make the mistake Christian, you did. I let him know I wanted a different one and he walked off with an annoyed expression, even going as far as slapping the wall in frustration.
No one asked for them.
Food and service is absolutely outstanding! We eat here every time we vacation from Tennessee. So far everything my husband and I have had has been delicious!
I will start out by complimenting the most important aspect of a brewery, the beer. I loved all three of the beers that I tried during my visit. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and the fact that they have a large patio where you can sit with your dog, even if I did not utilize it this time around. Our servers were all very friendly, and the food was good. No complaints here!
If you're wondering, yes I made a comment to a women behind the bar letting her know. Can't fix problems you don't realize have happened.
Everyone was hoping to get another beer. There goes more business for you. I also learned this server had done this before to this group. (A group of military adults enjoying good conversations, not young men causing Props problems.)
The longer version...
Ordered medium burger and got it well done. Ate 60% of it because I didn't want to send it back. Mentioned it to waitress and she said she would take care of it. She came back and gave me the check at full price. I asked her about it and she said they took a percentage off, I did the math in front of her. She took it to manager came back and said they took it off but the manager was pissed about it. Really pissed because I didn't send it back, well I like clean food. You know I wasn't even looking for a comp on it. Beer was good about it, will never be back. Bad management.
Very good food, reasonable prices, and great service. We had our local club meeting here and they fixed us up with a private room. The server was great and we had a good time. We are looking forward to coming back!
If you give me my check that quickly I take that as a silent "get out!" It comes off as rude. That's a cut in sales and will surely reflect in tips.
If I based my review solely on my visit yesterday I would remove a star. The short of it all. I've gone two times. I ate the Cubano (it was great) and the beers I had were also great. If you can get a good server you will enjoy your experience at Props.
We were a large party and the food came out well and everyone was enjoying their beer. As everyone finished their food the checks were dropped off.
