Everyone is really helpful
I love this library, but Okaloosa has clearly fallen behind other libraries in this state. It would be nice to see an increase in the selection of newly written books and educational programs found at other libraries in the state. Additionally, the restriction placed on computer users is ridiculous. This may sound unreal, but there are families who do not own a computer and a child who has work to do is restricted to a 1 hour limit when 1 hour is often not enough.
Internet too slow. Couldn't get nothing done
I had a really unsettling experience at this library which involved a sexist man commenting on my body. Clearly shaken and visually upset, I approached a librarian (Katie) who was so so so lovely in handling the situation. Had it not been for her, I think I would've truly feared returning to the library, but she made an active effort to ensure I felt safe once again. Katie not only walked me to my car, but validated all of my feelings and really consoled me through a difficult time. It's safe to assume that Katie is an exceptional employee and made all the difference; it is precisely because of this that I want to commend the staff, specifically Katie, for being so kind-hearted.
Great little library for a small town. The staff is very helpful. The holdings are limited, but there's interlibrary loan available and a really lovely children's section.
